Santa Cruz’s Erick Winkowski has a New Deck Out

And Andrew Cannon takes it for a spin
DOSE CREW  |

If you play hockey, you know that different player have different stick style. Some players like no curve on their blades. Some want a ton of curve, the better for stickhandling and ripping for twisted wristers. We don’t think of skateboarders being as creative about their boards. A skateboard is kind of just a skateboard, right, with maybe a few variants here and there? Don’t tell that to Santa Cruz’s Erick Winkowski. He loves to play with the concept of what a board can look like, and how different designs can change your skating experience. Winkowski has a new deck design out there, the Trash Panda Card, and it’s another innovative design from Winkowski (and Yaia).

What’s the Trash Panda Card all about? Well, it has variable front truck holes that allow you to adjust the wheelbase for starters. The tail is rounded to try and make 360 flips easier. Lastly, it also features a Cruise Missile 2 concave with a rocker in the middle. See, Winkowski is always thinking outside the box. Santa Cruz’s brand manager Andrew Cannon decided to try out the Trash Panda Card, and the video is available to view above. Just watch out that a raccoon, aka a trash panda, doesn’t swipe your phone or computer before you get a chance.
